FILM SYNOPSIS

Length: 12 mins
Genre: Romantic Comedy

Every day is the same for Emilio, a cleaner in a suburban shopping centre. He and his mate Fergus empty bins, bus tables and mop floors - but this isn't the life Emilio envisioned for himself. One day he spots the girl of his dreams, Jess, a checkout girl at a local discount supermarket.
She's cute, she's funny and she could be Emilio's glimmer of hope.

Now it's time for Emilio to make or break - clear the tables, get the girl and save the world.

This is a quirky origin story of boy meets girl, and the stupid things we do for love.

SEAN RODRIGO DIRECTOR

At age 15 he wrote and directed his first short film, 'Hope' which went on to screen at various Australian film festivals.

Largely referencing personal frustrations with working terrible jobs, Sean wrote 'Nerds in Love' over a period of many years. All the characters in the film were based on friends and co-workers who Sean had worked with over the years leading up to his professional career directing advertising content.

Sean has previously written and directed projects for clients including: MTV Australia & NZ, Jagermeister, Moosehead, Smirnoff, Hungry Jacks, Nintendo and Westfield.

Sean concluded: "There's a lot of uncertainty, doubt and darkness in the world today, and I love films that give you something good to hope for... I wanted to make a film that was funny but had a romantic perspective on life, and [showed] that with enough passion great things can happen to ordinary people."
